TRS Health — Community Health Center
About Us

We exist because too many Houstonians couldn't afford to get sick.

In Houston, 1 in 4 residents has no health insurance. Millions more are underinsured, paying premiums but still unable to afford a doctor visit. TRS Health was founded in 2018 to change that. Not with a grant program or a waiting list. With a clinic. Open now. $50 per primary care visit. No insurance ever required.

Mission

To provide high-quality, affordable healthcare to every Houstonian, regardless of income or insurance status.

Vision

A Houston where no one skips a doctor's visit because they can't afford it.

The name

Why "TRS"?

TRS stands for The Rising Sun. Our logo is a dawn — the moment of new beginnings, hope, and a fresh start. That's how we think about every patient who walks in, especially the ones who haven't had access to care in years.

What we believe

Five things we hold to.

Compassion

We don't overbook. Our providers take as long as you need — because a rushed appointment can't address a year of avoided care.

Justice

Access to quality healthcare is a right, not a privilege. $50 per primary care visit isn't a discount — it's a commitment.

Integrity

We'll tell you what you need to hear, even when it's hard. And we'll refer you out when your needs exceed our walls — without charging you for the privilege.

Accountability

We earn your trust visit by visit. 800+ five-star reviews aren't a marketing metric — they're our accountability system.

Unity

One team, one model of care, one community we answer to.

How we operate

A different model.

Most of our patients don't have insurance. We keep the prices of our services affordable by running a lean operation and relying on the support of donors, foundations, and grant partners. But our biggest strength is the community of dedicated providers and professionals who donate their time and expertise to make it possible.

We're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so revenue from patients goes back to fund the practice, not shareholders. That lets us prioritize patients over profit.

"I have never felt comfortable in a doctors office in my entire life until I came into the office of TRS Health. Every single one in the staff is courteous , kind snd professional. Dr Zaidi himself was humble, friendly, and very knowledgeable. The office was so clean and they all made me feel like they cared. I've been to so many hospitals where they just treat you as a patient But here i felt special. The fees are the Most affordable in town in the pharmacy drugs are cheaper than Walmart. Even if it is far away from my home, I will still do the drive to come to my appointments and I plan to stay here as long as it is the same doctor and the same staff."

"Went in today because I don't have insurance right now and I need someone to regulate my blood pressure. Everyone was friendly and attentive, from the front desk to the MA to the doctor and pharmacist. The MA and the doctor both asked thorough questions and the visit did not seem rushed. The doctor explained his medication decisions clearly and the pharmacist took the time to make sure I understood before I left. Really pleased with the experience and feeling relieved to have someone looking after my health whether or not I have insurance."

"This is where go see a regular doctor without health insurance. The first time I went here, there was practically no wait, the staff is so kind, they have a pharmacy in house so everything is taken care of right there, the pharmacy is as low cost as possible it seems, the services are as low as cost as possible. These people are really out here serving the community of uninsured. It's worth the drive for me across town from NW houston. I realize I'm blessed in being to do that, so I only hope that means they can open more locations across town in underserved areas. Thank you for being here!"
